So yesterday I was having a pretty crummy day so I decided to make a graphic with these two goofs, trying some things out.
Because Wally would so try to charm Artemis wearing a beret.

JUST. FUCKING. LOOK.
Both times, Wally tracks Artemis, makes sure she’s okay. Both times, Artemis hastens to get his back, to make sure he’s protected- they’re looking out for each other, both of them, but look at how they do it.
Wally makes sure Artemis is in his sight- in the first gif, he turns his head to make sure she’s always in his field of vision, and in the second he actually looks directly at her. Briefly, but still- they’re in a fight, every split second counts, but Wally is a speedster and he affords himself that extra second, that extra glance, to make sure Artemis is okay.
Artemis, on the other hand, isn’t so focused on one thing. Her priority is getting his six, making sure his back is protected.
And look at the difference between the first and second gifs. In the first, their movement is unpolished, they’re less sure of themselves. Artemis is scrambling to get to Wally, and he shifts his stance to orient himself to her.
In the second, they move together, confidently. They’re attuned to each other- see how Wally uses his shoulder and hip to roll Artemis around, how surely she gains her footing?
And maybe it’s just me, but do they look taller and leaner in the second gif?
Also, I would just like to point out that no matter its length, Artemis Crock always has fucking magnificent hair.
